Emma :)

Always smiling Emma - in the cafe in the Shepherds Building, London.

Red

December 15, 2010

I am pretty sure this one goes faster simply by virtue of redness.  The second car I ever drove was a mini.  The first car I ever did a handbrake slide in, donuts, or any other general fun… was a mini.  Good times.  I’m pretty sure mini’s like this are the crystallised memories of car nerds from the 70s and 80s.

Eidfjord at Sunset

December 5, 2010

This was taken in the final days of our hiking trip on the Hardanger Vidda, which is a large mountain plateau in Norway famous for being large and plateau-like.  Our entry and exit from the area were both via Eidfjord.  Fuji Velia is proving to be a challenging film.  Only a few good shots from this roll…

Norway rocks!

December 3, 2010

After a short cycle and hike to the end of the Harrdanger Fjord we stopped for lunch at this spot further up the valley.  Taken with my Mamiya 6 on some Kodak Portra.

Another of Oma and Opa

This is another shot from the 60th Anniversary, taken with my Agfa Isolette I.

Before students broke the windows…

At home on the balcony

November 2, 2010

This was one of the first shots I took with my Mamiya 6.  I’m still not creating perfect scans, but the results are pleasing.  Plus, I am too lazy to remove the dust specs.

Film is the new black

October 27, 2010

I have a new camera, and the first rolls of film are in.  Unfortunately the scanner doesn’t seem to provide perfectly sharp scans, but that is something to work on.  For now – here’s an example of the filmy goodness.

More retro than you.

September 15, 2010

My family is almost certainly more retro than your family.  That’s my grandparents, travelling by horse-drawn coach.  Those clothes they’re wearing – that’s them every day.  On the right is a cousin of mine, Jessica, filming with an 8mm film video camera she had kicking about. Her dress is the most modern one I’ve seen her wear.  I took this photo using an Agfa Isolette from 1952-ish, on black and white medium format film.  When did all this happen?  2009.
